Scarf: Window grids

I was looking for new crochet stitches on Pinterest and found this and thought the stitch from the left bottom corner could be a nice scarf, so I did some test and I got this pattern. I like so much the end result reminds me the "window grids".

I made two version: the infinity scarf with DK yarn and the regular one with worsted weight yarn. But you can switch them. The starting chain length is the wide of the scarf, so I did the diagrams based on the weigth of the yarn to get the same wide of both (7"). For the length depends of the person, the infinity scarf measures 42" and the other one 64" without the fringes.

Materials

1 skein of yarn (I used almost one skein of Red Heart® Super Saver® Flecks Yarn in Aran Color for the regular scarf plus some yards of Red Heart® Super Saver® in Cafe color for the fringes and one skein of Ice Yarn Dancing Baby Pink Shades Grey for the infinity scarf)
Crochet hook (I used 5mm for the regular scarf and 4mm for the infinity scarf)
Pair of scissors
Yarn needle

If you are using DK yarn...

Chain 34.

Row 1: 1 dc in the fifth chain, 5 dc in the next 5 stitches, * chain 2, skip 2 stitches, 1 dc in the next stitch, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, 7 dc in the next stitches**. Repeat from * to ** twice. Turn.

Row 2: chain 3 (replace the first dc), 6 dc in the next 6 stitches, * chain 2, skip 2 stitches, 1 dc in the next stitch, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, 7 dc in the next stitches**. Repeat from * to ** twice. Turn.

Row 3: chain 5 (replace the first dc and 2 chain space), skip 2 stitches, 1 dc in the next stitch, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, *7 dc in the next stitches,  chain 2, skip 2 stitches, 1 dc in the next stitch, chain 2, skip 2 stitches **. Repeat from * to ** twice, 1 dc in the last stitch. Turn.

To get your desired length repeat the following secuence: row 2 - row 2 - row 3 - row 3.

To get your desired length repeat the following secuence: row 2 - row 2 - row 3 - row 3.

If you are making the infinity scarf...

I did 122 rows.  Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew the sides, make sure you don't twist the scarf. Sewing the ends.

If you are making the regular scarf...

I did 110 rows. Finish with second row 2 to keep  it simetrical. Fasten off. If you like make some fringes and added to the sides of the scarf. I attached two on each stitch.
